The Laguna Beach Environmental Awards will be presented by the City of Laguna Beach in April 2011.
The purpose of this program is to recognize efforts to preserve, conserve, protect and enhance the environment in and around the City of Laguna Beach. All residents, businesses, community organizations and schools are eligible to receive recognition for their good work. The activity must have been initiated within the last three years and successfully implemented as of the date of the nomination form.
Who Can Be Nominated?
Any Laguna Beach resident, business or organization that is active in environmental preservation, conservation or educational activities may be nominated. A nominee may not be affiliated professionally with, or a family member of a current Environmental Committee member.
How to Nominate:
Official nomination forms can be downloaded from the City’s website at: http://www.lagunabeachcity.net/living/environment.asp or by contacting the City at (949) 497-0390. The completed nomination form and supporting documentation must be delivered to the Laguna Beach City Clerk’s Office at 505 Forest Avenue, Laguna Beach CA 92651. The deadline for submitting the nomination form to the City Clerk’s office is 5:00 p.m., March 11, 2011.
The Environmental Committee selects the award recipients by majority vote and sends the recommendations to the City Council. The City Council makes the awards in public session. The Environmental Committee will notify the award recipients of the date of the Council meeting in which their award will be presented.
